No shocking result in a game in Ankara where fourth ranked Karsiyaka (14-8) won against 9th ranked Turk Telekom (10-12) 83-66 on Saturday. The game without a history. Karsiyaka led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Jon Diebler (198-88, college: Ohio St.) scored 17 points to lead the charge for the winners and guard D.J. Strawberry (196-85, college: Maryland) chipped in 12 points during the contest. At the losing side center Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Karsiyaka maintains fourth position with 14-8 record. Turk Telekom at the other side dropped to the eighth place with 12 games lost. Karsiyaka will face Royal Hali (#8) in Gaziantep in the next round. Turk Telekom will play on the road against Galatasaray in Istanbul and hope to win that game.
