Rather expected game when 9th ranked Braunschweig (8-13) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Lichterfelde (11-10) 99-81 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Lichterfelde. Braunschweig was better in third quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lichterfelde made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was center Julia Sandow (182) who scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. Lena Gohlisch (173-93) chipped in 23 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Sade Jackson (177, college: Adelphi) who recorded 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import center Brittany Obi-Tabot (185, college: Fairfield) added 12 points respectively. They keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. Lichterfelde will face league's second-placed Osnabruck on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Braunschweig will play against SG BBZ Opladen (#4) and hope to win that game.
