Second ranked Avangard (15-7) crushed at home 5th ranked Khimik-2 (9-11) by 18 points 114-96, which is the biggest margin this round. The game was mostly controlled by Avangard. Khimik-2 was better in second period 31-30. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Avangard players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Khimik-2 was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Egor Maslyuchenko (200-90) notched 24 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Maxim Balashov (190-80, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) supported him with 20 points and 7 assists.
