Regular Season Round 32: Ferro-ZNTU - BC Odessa 70-80

Date: March 15, 2015
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Ferro-ZNTU (12-15) and BC Odessa (8-18), which took place in Zaporozhye. 6th ranked Ferro-ZNTU lost at home to ninth ranked BC Odessa 70-80 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ferro-ZNTU. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 10 points. BC Odessa made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Ferro-ZNTU turnovers. The winners were led by the former international guard Artem Slipenchuk (193-89, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 16 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals and swingman Igor Dobrikov (193-90) supported him with 23 points. Even 13 points by forward Yakov Zmitrovich (200-84) did not help to save the game for Ferro-ZNTU. Swingman Yaroslav Fomichev (196-94) added 12 points for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ferro-ZNTU's coach Kiril Bolshakov rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. BC Odessa maintains ninth position with 8-18 record. Loser Ferro-ZNTU keeps the sixth place with 15 games lost. BC Odessa will meet at home bottom-ranked Halychyna (#11) in the next round. Ferro-ZNTU will play against Cherkasy (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
