Regular Season Round 28: Heidelberg - Vechta 95-77

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (15-13) beat at home 9th ranked SC Rasta Vechta (12-16) 95-77. SC Rasta Vechta was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. MLP Academics Heidelberg made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game, while SC Rasta Vechta only scored three points from the stripe. MLP Academics Heidelberg players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The winners were led by John Eggleston (203-88, college: Pennsylvania) who scored that evening 24 points and 5 rebounds and guard Bradley Tinsley (191-89, college: Vanderbilt) supported him with 19 points and 7 assists. Four MLP Academics Heidelberg players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 6 rebounds by center Donald Lawson (208-88, college: W.Michigan) did not help to save the game for SC Rasta Vechta. point guard Richard Williams (177-87, college: San Diego St.) added 8 points and 5 assists for lost side. SC Rasta Vechta's coach tested twelve players seeing no chance for a win. MLP Academics Heidelberg moved-up to sixth place, which they share with ETB Wohnbau. SC Rasta Vechta at the other side keeps the ninth position with 16 games lost. MLP Academics Heidelberg's next round opponent will be BV Chemnitz 99 (#13) at home and are hoping to win another game. SC Rasta Vechta will play against Science City Jena (#5) and hope to win that game.
