There was an upset in Adana where higher ranked Istanbul Universitesi (13-7) was defeated by ninth ranked Botas (10-11) 77-59 on Sunday. The game without a history. Botas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American forward Lauren Ervin (191-85, college: Arkansas, agency: Two Points) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import forward Theresa Plaisance (196-92, college: LSU, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 18 points. The best for the losing side was American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds and Lithuanian guard Kamile Nacickaite (181-89, college: Drexel) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Istanbul Universitesi's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Botas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Edirne and Orduspor. Istanbul Universitesi lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Botas will face bottom-ranked Osmaniye (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Istanbul Universitesi will play against Hatay (#12) and hope to win that game.
