Regular Season Round 22: Anadolu Efes - TED Kolejliler 73-81

There was an upset in Istanbul where much higher ranked Anadolu Efes (16-6) was defeated by fourteenth ranked TED Kolejliler (8-14) 81-73 on Monday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-18. But Anadolu Efes won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for TED Kolejliler especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. American guard Clay Tucker (196-80, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) scored 30 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (210-87, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 10 points during the contest. At the losing side Greek Stratos Perperoglou (203-84) responded with 13 points and 5 assists and Croatian forward Dario Saric (204-94, agency: Beo Basket) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TED Kolejliler moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Usak. Anadolu Efes at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. TED Kolejliler will face league's leader Fenerbahce Ulker in Istanbul in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Anadolu Efes will play on the road against Usak and hope to win that game.
