Regular Season Round 25: Pitesti - CSU Sibiu 75-74

Eleventh-ranked CSU Sibiu (9-14) was very close to win a game against seventh ranked Pitesti (13-10) on Friday. Pitesti managed to secure only one-point victory 75-74. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Montenegrin center Stevan Milosevic (211-85, agency: Interperformances) nailed a double-double by scoring 13 points and 20 rebounds for the winning side and American point guard Ronald Ross (188-83, college: Texas Tech) accounted for 20 points and 5 assists. Four Pitesti players scored in double figures. American center Christopher Lee (206-84, college: S.Carolina St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds and Bosnian-Croatian guard Matija Ceskovic (192-81) added 13 points respectively for CSU Sibiu in the defeat. Pitesti moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Targu Mures. CSU Sibiu lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Pitesti will meet at home league's second-placed Steaua CSM in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CSU Sibiu will play against BC Timisoara (#8) and hope to secure a win.
