There was no surprise in Yuzhny where 7th ranked Mykolaiv (11-17) was outplayed by leader Khimik (28-0) 104-42 on Friday. The game without a history. Khimik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Mykolaiv to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 55.3 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Mykolaiv 56-16 including a 16-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Khimik looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Mykolaiv's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Khimik made 8 blocks. International center Artem Pustovyi (216-92) stepped up and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and American guard Ramone Moore (193-89, college: Temple) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. They keep the seventh position with 17 games lost. Khimik will face league's second-placed Budivelnyk in Kyiv in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mykolaiv will play on the road against DniproAzot (#11) in Dniprodzerzhynsk and hope to win that game.
