Regular Season Round 27: EWE Baskets - TBB Trier 60-80

Date: March 21, 2015
An interesting game took place in Oldenburg where higher ranked EWE Baskets (15-12) were upset on its own court by fifteenth ranked TBB Trier (5-18) 80-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by TBB Trier. EWE Baskets managed to win third quarter 20-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded EWE Baskets 40-27 including a 34-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Jamaican-Canadian forward Jermaine Bucknor (201-83, college: Richmond) who scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (207-91) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four TBB Trier players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Adam Chubb (208-81, college: Pennsylvania) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and international center Philipp Neumann (209-92) added 11 points respectively. EWE Baskets' coach Sebastian Machowski rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Despite that victory TBB Trier went down to seventeenth position due to points difference. EWE Baskets at the other side keep the sixth place with 12 games lost. TBB Trier will meet at home higher ranked BG Goettingen (#11) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. EWE Baskets will play against Artland Dragons (#9) and hope to secure a win.
