There was no surprise when 9th ranked Rhein MB II (6-16) lost to second ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (20-2) in Langen 63-69 on Saturday. Rhein MB II trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 21-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 63-69 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Rhein MB II 44-24 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for American forward Lyndi Thorman (190-90, college: UTSA) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds. Center Nadjeschda Ilmberger (187-96) contributed with 8 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Don Bosco Bamberg's coach Steffen Dauer used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Nadine Ripper (175-88) replied with 24 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Mara Greunke (186-91) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Rhein MB II. Don Bosco Bamberg keeps a position of South leader. Rhein MB II lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 16 games lost.
