The game in Burgas supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Balkan (16-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Chernomorets (2-18). Balkan smashed Chernomorets 110-60. The game without a history. Balkan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Chernomorets' 38. Balkan forced 21 Chernomorets turnovers and outrebounded them 52-29 including a 24-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international Ivan Lilov (196-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 assists. The former international Pavel Marinov (199-88, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 20 points and 4 steals. Four Balkan players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Balkan have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 16-5 record having just two points less than leader Lukoil Acad. Chernomorets lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 18 games lost. Balkan will play against Cherno More (#4) in Varna in the next round. Chernomorets will play on the road against Rilski (#5) in Samokov and hopes to get back on the winning track.
