Regular Season Round 26: Istanbul DSI - Afyon 65-54

There was a small surprise when seventeenth ranked Istanbul DSI (7-19) beat at home 15th ranked Afyon (7-19) 65-54. It looked good early as Afyon took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Istanbul DSI had a 18-10 second period charge getting the lead and Afyon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 54-65. The best player for the winners was American forward Esian Henderson (206-86, college: Central Mo.) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Surinamese-Dutch guard Charlon Kloof (190-90, college: St.Bonaventure) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Raymond Sykes (206-86, college: Clemson, agency: Three Eye Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and the former international guard Firat Aydemir (187-80) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Istanbul DSI moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Afyon and Pertevniyal. Istanbul DSI's next round opponent will be higher ranked Socar Petkim (#8) on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
