Regular Season Round 23: Beroe - Spartak Pleven 104-64

Bottom-ranked Spartak Pleven is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 20th consecutive match to sixth ranked Beroe (9-12) 104-64 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Beroe. Spartak Pleven managed to win third quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Beroe had a 33-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 63.6 percentage. Beroe looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Spartak Pleven's players. The former international Tihomir Zhelev (193-90) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 assists (perfect behind the arc making all seven shots !!!). Serbian Milan Markovic contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international Stanislav Vaklinov (207-89, agency: Interperformances) answered with 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Milen Zahariev (190-92) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Spartak Pleven. Beroe maintains sixth place with 9-12 record. Spartak Pleven at the other side still closes the standings. Beroe are looking forward to face league's leader Lukoil Acad. in Sofia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spartak Pleven will play at home against Levski Sofia (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
