Regular Season Round 15: Khimik-2 - VolinBasket 90-83

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked VolinBasket's (6-12) road loss to fifth ranked Khimik-2 (11-9) 83-90 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But VolinBasket won third quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimik-2 made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by VolinBasket's players. It was a great evening for Oleg Goncharov (193-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Point guard Illya Sidorov (184-96) helped adding 9 points and 13 assists. Four Khimik-2 players scored in double figures. Khimik-2's coach let to play all 12 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was point guard Pavlo Hailo (182-87) with 25 points and forward Artem Shevchenko (194-89) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Khimik-2 moved-up to fourth place. VolinBasket lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Khimik-2 will meet higher ranked Avantazh-Politekhnik (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. VolinBasket will play against Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
