Regular Season Round 29: Gotha - Baunach 60-73

Another upset was a game between Oettinger Rockets Gotha (17-12) and Baunach (13-16), which took place in Gotha. 4th placed Oettinger Rockets Gotha lost at home to ninth ranked Baunach 60-73. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Baunach's pressure prevailed and they won that period 25-18 extending their advantage to 13 points. The best player for the winners was American Sam Muldrow (205-88, college: S.Carolina, agency: Two Points) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Marcos Knight (188-89, college: Middle Tenn.St.) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Baunach players scored in double figures. American guard Carlton Guyton (193-90, college: Kent St.) produced 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Marco Voeller (201-89) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Baunach maintains ninth place with 13-16 record. Oettinger Rockets Gotha lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 12 games lost. Baunach's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Giessen 46ers at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Oettinger Rockets Gotha will play against Nuernberg in Nurnberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
