Very predictable result when fourth ranked Istanbul Universitesi (15-7) rolled over on the road 10th ranked Mersin (8-15) 76-55. The game was mostly controlled by Istanbul Universitesi. Mersin was better in fourth quarter 12-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Mersin 40-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian guard Kamile Nacickaite (181-89, college: Drexel) who scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Greek forward Artemis Spanou (188-93, college: Robert Morris) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard Samantha Prahalis (170-90, college: Ohio St., agency: LBM Management) produced 18 points and Bulgarian-American point guard Doneeka Hodges-Lewis (175-82, college: LSU, agency: LBM Management) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Istanbul Universitesi maintains fourth place with 15-7 record. Mersin lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 15 games lost. Istanbul Universitesi's next round opponent will be league's leader Galatasaray in Istanbul and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
