Very expected game when 10th ranked Craiova (9-13) lost to second ranked Steaua CSM (18-5) in Bucuresti 99-104. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 33-25 Craiova's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 104-99 at the end of the game. Steaua CSM shot 68.0 percent from the field and made 26-of-28 charity shots (92.9 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Steaua CSM especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 30 personal fouls committed by Craiova helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Bosnian-Serbian guard Goran Ikonic (196-80, agency: BeoExcell) fired 22 points and 4 assists for the winners. Craiova at the other side keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost. Steaua CSM's next round opponent will be Pitesti (#5) on the road. Craiova will play against Timba Timosoara (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
