Regular Season Round 27: Brose Bask. - MBC 80-62

BBL top team - Brose Baskets (23-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat thirteenth ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (9-18) in Bamberg 80-62. The game was mostly controlled by Brose Baskets. Mitteldeutscher BC was better in fourth quarter 15-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brose Baskets dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Mitteldeutscher BC's 26. It was a quality performance for American-Nigerian power forward Trevor Mbakwe (207-89, college: Minnesota) who led the winners and scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Latvian point guard Janis Strelnieks (191-89) accounted for 5 points and 8 assists for the winning side. Four Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. American swingman Patrick Richard (196-90, college: McNeese St., agency: KMG Sports Management) came up with 15 points and the other American import forward Darryl Webb (198-88, college: Indiana, PA) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Mitteldeutscher BC in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brose Baskets have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 23-3 record. Mitteldeutscher BC lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Bayreuth. Brose Baskets will play against EnBW Ludwigsburg (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mitteldeutscher BC will play against BBC Bayreuth and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
