No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (16-13) beat at home 12th ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (10-19) 89-83 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-83. American players dominated also this game. Guard Bradley Tinsley (191-89, college: Vanderbilt) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 6 assists. Forward Kelvin Martin (195-89, college: Charleston So.) contributed with 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five MLP Academics Heidelberg players scored in double figures. point guard Virgil Matthews (188-83, college: Montana, agency: Court Side) answered with 22 points and 6 assists and forward Andre Calvin (201-85, college: Drake) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for BV Chemnitz 99. The victory was the third consecutive win for MLP Academics Heidelberg. They maintain sixth place with 16-13 record. Loser BV Chemnitz 99 keeps the twelfth position with 19 games lost. MLP Academics Heidelberg will face Kirchheim Knights (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. BV Chemnitz 99 will play against Hamburg and hope to win that game.
