Sixth-ranked VolinBasket (6-12) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Khimik-2 (11-9) in Yuzhny. Khimik-2 managed to secure only two-point victory 91-89. However their fans expected easier game. VolinBasket was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 23-19 charge of Khimik-2, which allowed them to win the game. VolinBasket was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Oleg Goncharov (193-94) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Illya Sidorov (184-96) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Five Khimik-2 players scored in double figures. Khimik-2's coach used entire bench in such tough game. point guard Andriy Kobets (192-93) answered with 30 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Dmitry Shvahrynskyy (197-89) added 16 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for VolinBasket. Khimik-2 moved-up to fourth place. VolinBasket lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Khimik-2 will play against higher ranked Avantazh-Politekhnik (#3) in Kharkov in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. VolinBasket will play at home against Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
