No shocking result in a game in Kaunas where second ranked Zalgiris (27-4) smashed 8th ranked Lietkabelis (9-22) 102-72. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Lietkabelis' 38 and made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Zalgiris forced 20 Lietkabelis turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Swingman Tomas Dimsa (195-94) nailed 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and international center Arturas Gudaitis (208-93) accounted for 14 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). Coach Gintaras Krapikas's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Arnas Labuckas (205-87) came up with 14 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Canadian point guard Evaldas Zabas (188-88) added 18 points respectively for Lietkabelis in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Zalgiris. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Lietuvos rytas. Lietkabelis lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth place with 22 games lost. Zalgiris' next round opponent will be Nevezis (#9) in Kedainiai and are hoping to win another game. Lietkabelis will play at home against the league's leader Lietuvos rytas and hope to win that game.
