Regular Season Round 31: Kapfenberg - Gussing 75-73

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Gussing Knights (22-9) on the court of fourth ranked Kapfenberg Bulls on Monday night. Visitors were edged by Kapfenberg Bulls 75-73. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Gussing Knights. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gussing Knights won third quarter 27-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kapfenberg Bulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for international forward Joe Dean Shaw (199-87, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 6 rebounds. American swingman Ian Boylan (197-83, college: CS Northridge) helped adding 4 points and 13 assists. At the losing side American forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St.) scored 13 points. Four Gussing Knights players scored in double figures. Kapfenberg Bulls (19-12) moved-up to third place, which they share with Gmunden. Defending champion Gussing Knights still keep top position with nine games lost. They share it with Zepter Vienna. Kapfenberg Bulls is looking forward to face Furstenfeld Panthers (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gussing Knights will play against Gmunden Swans (#4) and are hoping to win this game.
