Regular Season Round 33: Nevezis - P.Zvaigzdes 92-83

We should mention about the upset which took place in Kedainiai, where higher ranked P.Zvaigzdes (18-13) lost to tenth ranked Nevezis (6-26) in a road game 83-92 on Tuesday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-15. But P.Zvaigzdes won third quarter 25-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward Vaidotas Volkus (203-85, college: Redlands CC) stepped up and scored 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and American guard Rod Camphor (191-92, college: SW Oklahoma St., agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 15 points and 7 assists. Nevezis' coach Virginijus Sirvydis used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American guard Michael Dixon (186-90, college: Memphis) with 22 points and 7 rebounds and forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four P.Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. Nevezis moved-up to ninth place. Loser P.Zvaigzdes keeps the fifth position with 13 games lost. Nevezis will meet at home league's second-placed Zalgiris in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. P.Zvaigzdes will play against Tonybet and hope to secure a win.
