The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh ranked Gediz's (13-14) home victory over 12th ranked Final Genclik (10-17) 83-82 on Friday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Final Genclik was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for point guard Lionel Chalmers (183-80, college: Xavier) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points. Forward K'Zell Wesson (201-77, college: La Salle) helped adding 9 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. The best for the losing side was forward Damien Kinloch (203-80, college: Tenn Tech) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and guard Reginald Holmes (193-87, college: Morgan St., agency: Two Points) scored 24 points and 4 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!). Newly promoted Gediz maintains eleventh place with 13-14 record. Final Genclik lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Gediz will face higher ranked Akhisar Bld (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Final Genclik will play against the league's leader Denizli (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
