There was no surprise when 18th ranked Crailsheim Merlins (5-23) were crushed on the road by third ranked Bayern Muenchen (22-6) 110-76 on Saturday. The game without a history. Bayern Muenchen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Crailsheim Merlins' 38. They outrebounded Crailsheim Merlins 44-20 including a 26-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bayern Muenchen looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American center John Bryant (208-87, college: Santa Clara) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Serbian Dusko Savanovic (204-83, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. American swingman Sean Mosley (192-89, college: Maryland) produced 13 points and 5 assists and his fellow American import center Chris Otule (211-90, college: Marquette) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Bayern Muenchen and four Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains third position with 22-6 record behind leader Brose Bask. Crailsheim Merlins lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games.
