There was a surprise result in Mersin where ninth ranked Botas (11-13) beat higher ranked Adana ASKI (14-10) 88-77 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Botas. Adana ASKI was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Botas won last quarter 30-21. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Lauren Ervin (191-85, college: Arkansas, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Pelin Bilgic (175-94) who added 26 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Nilay Kartaltepe Yigit (172-79) with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and American forward Erlana Larkins (185-86, college: N.Carolina) scored 9 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Botas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Edirne and Orduspor. Adana ASKI lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with ten games lost. Botas will face Ormanspor (#13) in Ankara in the next round where they are favorite. Adana ASKI will play on the road against Hatay (#12) and hope to win that game.
