Regular Season Round 28: EWE Baskets - Art.Dragons 77-74
Date: March 29, 2015
Rather predictable result in Oldenburg where sixth ranked EWE Baskets (16-12) edged 8th ranked Artland Dragons (14-14) 77-74 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-16. But Artland Dragons won second period 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian power forward Nemanja Aleksandrov (210-87) fired 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Julius Jenkins (187-81, college: Georgia South) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. American swingman Brandon Thomas (198-84, college: Massachusetts, agency: Three Eye Sports) produced 14 points and 5 assists and his fellow American import center Kenny Frease (212-89, college: Xavier) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. EWE Baskets maintains sixth position with 16-12 record. Loser Artland Dragons keep the eighth place with 14 games lost. EWE Baskets will face higher ranked Telekom Baskets (#5) in Bonn in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Artland Dragons will play at home against the league's second-placed ALBA Berlin and hope to win that game.
