Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Istanbul Universitesi (16-8) defeated at home 8th ranked Edirne (11-13) 81-69 on Sunday. They outrebounded Edirne 49-27 including a 36-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Nevin Nevlin (193-85, college: Stanford, agency: GoaBasket) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists and American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) who added 18 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Four Istanbul Universitesi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-Belarusian guard Lindsey Harding (173-84, college: Duke) with 21 points and American swingman Marissa Coleman (185-87, college: Maryland) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Istanbul Universitesi maintains fourth position with 16-8 record. Newly promoted Edirne dropped to the seventh place with 13 games lost. Istanbul Universitesi will face Orduspor (#7) on the road in the next round. Edirne will play against Osmaniye and hope to win that game.
