Regular Season Round 24: Anadolu Efes - Banvit BK 89-83
Date: March 29, 2015
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Anadolu Efes (17-7) beat 7th ranked Banvit BK (12-12) in Istanbul 89-83 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Banvit BK trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 33-23 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 83-89 at the end of the game. Anadolu Efes made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Banvit BK was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Serbian center Nenad Krstic (212-83, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 7 rebounds. Greek Stratos Perperoglou (203-84) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. American-Bulgarian point guard Earl Rowland (188-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) replied with 25 points and Dominican-American guard Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Banvit BK. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Anadolu Efes moved-up to second place, which they share with Darussafaka. Banvit BK lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. Anadolu Efes will face bottom-ranked Eskisehir Basket (#16) in Edirne in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Banvit BK will play at home against the league's leader Fenerbahce Ulker (#1) and hope to win that game.
