Regular Season Round 29: Braunschweig - Telekom Bsk 72-75

Eleventh-ranked Braunschweig (13-15) used its home court advantage to challenge fifth ranked Telekom Baskets (19-10). The visitors from Bonn managed to secure only three-point victory 75-72. However their fans expected much easier game. Braunschweig cut a 15-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. Telekom Baskets made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Braunschweig helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian forward Tadas Klimavicius (204-82) who scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. American-Italian forward Angelo Caloiaro (205-89, college: USF) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) produced 12 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Derrick Allen (203-80, college: Mississippi) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Telekom Baskets moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Ratiopharm. Braunschweig at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Telekom Baskets' next round opponent will be Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#14) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Braunschweig will play against EnBW Ludwigsburg and hope to win that game.
