There was an upset when higher ranked Besiktas (13-12) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Usak (10-15) 70-66 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 20-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. American point guard Chris Warren (178-88, college: Mississippi) stepped up and scored 15 points and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee services) chipped in 11 points and 13 rebounds. Five Usak players scored in double figures. Usak's coach Ozan Bulkaz allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side Puerto Rican-American swingman John Holland (195-88, college: Boston U.) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and Bosnian center Kenan Bajramovic (205-81) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Usak maintains thirteenth place with 10-15 record. Loser Besiktas dropped to the fifth position with 12 games lost. Usak will face higher ranked Turk Telekom (#8) in Ankara in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Besiktas will play at home against Banvit BK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
