A very interesting game took place in Lisboa. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Atletico (6-13) to sixth ranked Benfica B (9-9) 70-68 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Atletico. The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 23-14 Atletico's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 70-68 at the end of the game. Benfica B shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was swingman Sergio Silva (193-96) who scored 20 points and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Center Ricardo Monteiro (208-97) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Joao Manuel (192-79) who recorded 27 points and 6 steals and Miguel Barroca added 16 points respectively. Benfica B moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted Atletico keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Benfica B's next round opponent will be Vasco (#10) in Porto which should be theoretically an easy game. Atletico will play at home against Terceira and hope to win that game.
