Regular Season Round 21: Ginasio - Electrico FC 50-70

An interesting game for Electrico FC (16-3) which played road game in Figueira da Foz against 3rd placed Ginasio (11-8). Second ranked Electrico FC had an easy win 70-50. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ginasio. The game without a history. Electrico FC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Ginasio 44-21 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for guard Tiago Pinto (183-88) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!) (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Naturalized Cape Verdean swingman Mario Neves (190-77) contributed with 6 points and 20 rebounds for the winners. Electrico FC's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Marco Goncalves (206-84) answered with 13 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Pedro Marques (183-93) added 13 points in the effort for Ginasio. Electrico FC have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 16-3 record having just three points less than leader FC Porto. Ginasio at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. They share it with Terceira. Electrico FC are looking forward to face Esgueira / Oli (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Ginasio will play against Guifoes (#11) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
