Date: April 4, 2015
The game between Top Four teams took place in Kirovograd. 3rd ranked host Zolotoi Vek (13-8) was smashed by first ranked Avangard (19-5) 110-70. The game without a history. Avangard led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Avangard forced 21 Zolotoi Vek turnovers and outrebounded them 39-28 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Vladlen Berezhnyy (199-95) notched 20 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) to lead the effort and the former international guard Maxim Balashov (190-80, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) supported him with 22 points. Even 16 points and 6 rebounds by center Roman Novikov (204-92) did not help to save the game for Zolotoi Vek. point guard Bogdan Sosoi (182-92) added 16 points. Five Avangard and four Zolotoi Vek players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Avangard have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 19-5 record. Zolotoi Vek lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the third place with eight games lost. Avangard will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Zolotoi Vek will play on the road against VolinBasket in Lutsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
