Regular Season Round 28: Istanbul DSI - Mamak DSI 80-91

There was no surprise when 16th ranked Istanbul DSI (8-20) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked Mamak DSI (10-18) 91-80 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Mamak DSI. Istanbul DSI was better in second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 30-of-39 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Istanbul DSI was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Jason Clark (188-90, college: Georgetown) fired 21 points for the winners. Forward Mustafa Bakir Gorur (204-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Bulgarian forward Musa Gunes (200-85) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and guard Barkin Haluk Cinar (193-83) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Five Mamak DSI and four Istanbul DSI players scored in double figures. Istanbul DSI's coach Ali Burgul rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mamak DSI moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Final Genclik. Istanbul DSI at the other side dropped to the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. Mamak DSI will face higher ranked Adanaspor (#10) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Istanbul DSI will play against Gediz (#11) and hope to win that game.
