NBL top team - Lukoil Acad. (20-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Beroe (9-13) in Stara Zagora 90-65. The game without a history. Lukoil Acad. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Beroe's 28. Lukoil Acad. players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The winners were led by international Dimitar Dimitrov (203-93, agency: Interperformances) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian-Montenegrin forward Nikola Dragovic (206-87, college: UCLA) supported him with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Lukoil Acad.'s coach Jovica Arsic felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 14 points and 6 rebounds by Serbian Milan Markovic did not help to save the game for Beroe. The former international Pavlin Ivanov (194-93, agency: Beo Basket) added 14 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lukoil Acad. have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-1 record. Beroe at the other side keeps the sixth place with 13 games lost. Lukoil Acad.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sofia Levski Sofia.
