Regular Season Round 18: Kyiv-Vovcha - Avantazh-Pol. 92-98

The game in Kyiv was also quite interesting. Second ranked Avantazh-Politekhnik (15-6) played at the court of 7th ranked Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya (2-17). Avantazh-Politekhnik managed to secure a 6-point victory 98-92 on Thursday. Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 22-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 92-98 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Timur Arabadgi (193-81) who scored 22 points and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Forward Rodion Borovskyi (195-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Avantazh-Politekhnik's coach Valentin Kulibaba used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Anton Musienko (190-97) who recorded 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Olexiy Solovyov (187-97) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Avantazh-Politekhnik have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-6 record having seven points less than leader Avangard. Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 17 games lost. Avantazh-Politekhnik will meet at home Dnipro-DVUFK (#6) in the next round. Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya will play against Khimik-2 and hope to secure a win.
