Regular Season Round 37: Neptunas - Dzukija 62-70

The game between third ranked Neptunas (29-7) and sixth ranked Dzukija (19-16) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Neptunas was defeated by Dzukija in a tough game in Klaipeda 62-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Neptunas. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 35-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Dzukija forced 26 Neptunas turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Rytis Juknevicius (187-93) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. The former international guard Giedrius Gustas (190-80, agency: Alti Sport) contributed with 17 points for the winners. The former international forward Deividas Gailius (200-88) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and forward Donatas Zavackas (203-80, college: Pittsburgh) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Neptunas. Dzukija maintains sixth place with 19-16 record. Neptunas at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. Dzukija are looking forward to face Siauliai (#7) at home in the next round. Neptunas will play against the league's leader Lietuvos rytas (#1) in Vilnius and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
