Regular Season Round 25: Rilski - Cherno More 77-87

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Samokov where 4th placed Rilski (13-8) was defeated by fifth ranked Cherno More (14-8) 87-77 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cherno More. Rilski managed to win second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Cherno More forced 19 Rilski turnovers. The former international guard Stanimir Marinov (192-91) stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Montenegrin power forward Milos Komatina (205-84) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side the former international guard Yordan Bozov (191-79, agency: Global Sports Plaza) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and Montenegrin forward Zarko Rakocevic (204-84, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Five Cherno More and four Rilski players scored in double figures. Rilski's coach Rosen Barchovski rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Cherno More moved-up to third place, which they share with Levski Sofia. Rilski at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Cherno More will meet at home bottom-ranked Spartak Pleven (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rilski will play against Levski Sofia (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
