Regular Season Round 38: Lietuvos rytas - Neptunas 84-75

The game between Top Four teams took place in Vilnius. First ranked host Lietuvos rytas (32-4) defeated 3rd ranked Neptunas (29-8) 84-75. Neptunas trailed by 21 points after 3 quarters before a 25-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-84 at the end of the game. Lietuvos rytas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Swingman Gediminas Orelikas (199-90) scored 25 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Ksistof Lavrinovic (209-79) chipped in 14 points during the contest. Forward Donatas Zavackas (203-80, college: Pittsburgh) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Simas Galdikas (204-87) scored 15 points. Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lietuvos rytas have an impressive 16-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 32-4 record. Neptunas at the other side keeps the third place with eight games lost. Lietuvos rytas are looking forward to face Juventus (#4) in Utena in the next round. Neptunas will play on the road against Lietkabelis in Panevezys and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
