The game in Sofia was also quite interesting. Third ranked Rilski (15-8) played at the court of 5th ranked Levski Sofia (15-9). Rilski did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 81-62 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Rilski. Levski Sofia managed to win second period 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Levski Sofia 45-34 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Montenegrin forward Zarko Rakocevic (204-84, agency: Interperformances) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American guard Vernon Taylor (192-87, college: Troy) supported him with 22 points. Four Rilski players scored in double figures. Rilski's coach Rosen Barchovski used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 21 points and 6 rebounds by international Pavel Ivanov (200-88, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Levski Sofia. The former international Dimitar Anguelov (202-79, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points for the hosts. Rilski maintains third position with 15-8 record having seven points less than leader Lukoil Acad., which they share with Cherno More. Defending champion Levski Sofia keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Rilski will meet league's second-placed Balkan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Levski Sofia will have a break next round.
