The game had a very big importance for second-ranked ALBA Berlin as it allowed them to take a leadership position. ALBA Berlin defeated 13th ranked Phoenix Hagen at home 78-74. Phoenix Hagen trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 20-11 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 74-78 at the end of the game.
