The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifteenth ranked Afyon's (10-20) home victory over 16th ranked ITU Istanbul (8-22) 81-76 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 5 points. ITU Istanbul was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Afyon's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American forward Jayme Miller (203-85, agency: Coast to Coast) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and guard Ozgur Sahin (190-93) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four ITU Istanbul players scored in double figures. Afyon moved-up to fourteenth place. ITU Istanbul lost eleventh consecutive game. They dropped to the seventeenth position with 22 games lost. Afyon will face higher ranked Socar Petkim (#10) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. ITU Istanbul will play against Pertevniyal (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
