Regular Season Round 39: Siauliai - P.Zvaigzdes 81-84

Seventh-ranked Siauliai (17-20) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked P.Zvaigzdes (22-15). The visitors from Pasvalys managed to secure only three-point victory 84-81. However their fans expected easier game. Siauliai was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 38-33 second half run of P.Zvaigzdes. They shot 64.7 percent from the field. It was a good game for American guard Michael Dixon (186-90, college: Memphis) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 5 assists. Tauras Jogela (202-93) contributed with 15 points for the winners. P.Zvaigzdes' coach Mantas Sernius allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American center Ryan Olander (213-90, college: Fairfield) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import power forward Jeff Allen (201-87, college: Virginia Tech) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Siauliai. Four Siauliai players scored in double figures. P.Zvaigzdes have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Juventus. Defending champion Siauliai keeps the seventh position with 20 games lost. P.Zvaigzdes will play against Lietkabelis (#8) in Panevezys in the next round. Siauliai will play at home against the league's second-placed Zalgiris and hopes to get back on the winning track.
