Regular Season Round 30: Bremerhaven - Telekom Bsk 71-78

Very expected game when 14th ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (10-21) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Telekom Baskets (20-10) 78-71. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven was ahead by 8 points at the halftime before a 50-35 second half run of Telekom Baskets. They made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for American-Italian forward Angelo Caloiaro (205-89, college: USF) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 7 rebounds. Lithuanian forward Tadas Klimavicius (204-82) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Jerry Smith (188-87, college: Louisville) replied with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import power forward Devin Searcy (208-89, college: Dayton) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Telekom Baskets have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 20-10 record. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven at the other side dropped to the fifteenth place with 21 games lost. Telekom Baskets' next round opponent will be Walter Tigers (#16) in Tuebingen which should be an easy win for them. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play on the road against EnBW Ludwigsburg and hope to win that game.
