The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixteenth ranked Pertevniyal's (10-21) road victory over 17th ranked ITU Istanbul (8-23) 89-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Pertevniyal. ITU Istanbul was better in third quarter 29-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded ITU Istanbul 39-27 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. American point guard Alfrie Kelley (183-85, college: S.Carolina) fired 27 points and 7 assists for the winners. Burak Can Yildizli (202-94) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Pertevniyal players scored in double figures. Pertevniyal's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Marshall Moses (198-89, college: Oklahoma St.) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Jayme Miller (203-85, agency: Coast to Coast) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Pertevniyal moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Afyon. ITU Istanbul lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 23 games lost. Pertevniyal will face higher ranked Yesilgiresun (#6) in Giresun in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ITU Istanbul will play on the road against Socar Petkim (#10) and hope to win that game.
