Regular Season Round 26: Cherno More - Spartak Pleven 87-82

Very expected game when 9th ranked Spartak Pleven (1-22) lost to fourth ranked Cherno More (15-8) in Varna 82-87 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 29-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Cherno More dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Pleven's 22. Montenegrin power forward Milos Komatina (205-84) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international point guard Asen Velikov (187-86) supported him with 22 points and 4 assists. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by swingman Vasil Aleksandrov (199-90) did not help to save the game for Spartak Pleven. Serbian guard Uros Velickovic (189-83, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Four Cherno More and five Spartak Pleven players scored in double figures. Cherno More moved-up to third place, which they share with Rilski. Loser Spartak Pleven stay dead last with 22 lost games. Cherno More will meet league's leader Lukoil Acad. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Spartak Pleven will play against Yambol (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
