Regular Season Round 19: Kyiv-Vovcha - Khimik-2 76-85

The game in Kyiv was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Khimik-2 (13-10) played at the court of 7th ranked Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya (2-19). Khimik-2 managed to secure a 9-point victory 85-76 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 48-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Khimik-2 forced 25 Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya turnovers. Strangely Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya outrebounded Khimik-2 45-30 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Oleg Goncharov (193-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points. Point guard Kyrylo Meshheryakov (184-95) helped adding 15 points. Khimik-2's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Anton Musienko (190-97) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and forward Danil Ovcharenko (201-98) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Khimik-2 moved-up to third place, which they share with Zolotoi Vek. Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 19 games lost. Khimik-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya will play against Zolotoi Vek (#3) in Kirovograd and hope to secure a win.
