Regular Season Round 31: MBC - EWE Baskets 78-76

A very interesting game took place in Weissenfels. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked EWE Baskets (17-14) to twelfth ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (13-18) 78-76 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. EWE Baskets cut a 17-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. The game was dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for guard Frantz Massenat (193-92, college: Drexel) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 6 assists. Swingman Patrick Richard (196-90, college: McNeese St., agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 16 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winning side. Swingman Rickey Paulding (196-82, college: Missouri) came up with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Julius Jenkins (187-81, college: Georgia South) added 17 points respectively for EWE Baskets in the defeat. Four EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Mitteldeutscher BC have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain twelfth place with 13-18 record. EWE Baskets at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 14 games lost. Mitteldeutscher BC's next round opponent will be Walter Tigers (#16) in Tuebingen.
